Shoot in natural light, in the late morning
Mid-morning to early afternoon gives even, soft light through most windows. Switch on all the room lights as well to lift the corners.
Shoot from corners, low down
A photo taken from a corner, slightly below standing eye-level, makes a room feel larger than the same shot taken from the middle of the doorway.
